Clemence Poesy, the style icon

French actress Clemence Poesy is a huge style icon for me. Her outfits are feminine, soft, and have an effortless elegance that is so hard to imitate. Here are just a few of my favourite looks of hers.

Katie Ermilio

Today, I want to show my readers work of the amazing designer Katie Ermilio. Her grandfather was a great designer who made clothes for Grace Kelly, but she is also exceptionally talented in her own right. She has described her own work with the words "definitely ladylike...almost proper, but it's a little bit tongue-in-cheek." See for yourself some images from her latest collection, from F/W 2013.14.

One of my favourite collections of hers is is her S/S 2012 collection. Here are a few looks.

And here are some images of her and her apartment. Isn't it beautiful?

5 trends I'll never wear

Never say never, right? But I think we all have trends that we'd prefer to stay away from, whether it's because we can't pull off the look or because we just don't like it. Here are some trends I personally can't picture myself trying. Not just runway trends, but also trends that are common among the masses and I often see in my daily life.

1. Toms - When I look at them, all I can think is that they look like Chinese foot bindings.

2. Crop tops - There's nothing wrong with crop tops, in my opinion. I just don't think they work on me. Maybe it's because I'm a little shy, since I also feel this way about dresses with peekaboo cuts.

3. Uggs - Their popularity seems to be on the decline, and I'm very glad for that. I've heard they're comfortable and warm, but to me, the unforgivable shape and appearance just cannot be excused by any level of comfort.

4. Snakeskin - It scares me just to think about it. Is no one else terrified by it?

5. Mixing prints - I'm fine with one, or even two prints in an outfit. After that, it starts to feel a little busy and I get the feeling that my outfit is overwhelming me. Maybe the main problem for me is that I don't have expertise to coordinate an outfit with a variety of prints.

PFW Review F/W 2013.14 (part 3)

I have, finally, put together the last part of my three part review of my favourite Paris Fashion Week collections of this season. This is very late, right? I was feeling a little drained of inspiration to blog, but it looks like it's back! Anyway, here are the remaining collections of F/W 13.14 Paris Fashion Week that I absolutely adored.

PFW Review F/W 2013.14 (part 2)

As Paris Fashion Week came to a close, thus closing fashion month of Fall/Winter 2013.14, I started to see the collections that I really love. And I had thought that Paris collections couldn't get any better! In this post, I want to focus on two collections that literally made my jaw drop: Chanel and Valentino.

Chanel this season was a collection of beautiful silhouettes and classic elegance, but also modern to the core.

And can we talk about how awesome the venue looked?

And Valentino! I literally loved every piece of the collection. It was beautiful and feminine as always, but I also love how wearable and full of character this was.

P.S. There is a part 3 post coming soon!
